The evening featured creative comedy by Jackson Vice Principal Dave Peters, inspirational music from Seattle singer Darin Ford and some wonderful challenges from national youth authority Rich Dutra-St. John, co founder of the National Challenge Day program, which helps teenagers end the separation and loneliness caused by teasing, bullying, humiliation and violence on school campuses. The organization was founded in 1987.

The evening’s main spotlight was on April Brown, the top female auctioneer on the West Coast, who turned generously donated items into much needed money for future challenge projects. Among the unique auctions items were specially designed jewelry, trips north-of -the-border, creative “college send-off” kits and a private airplane tour.

Proceeds from this memorable evening were shared by the Jackson High School Challenge Day program and the Snohomish county “Circle of Change” program, represented by Teena Edison who has seen numerous changes in students and parents alike. “We must continue to tear down the walls of separation while inspiring students to love, study and work in an encouraging environment of acceptance, love and respect.

Jackson High School Vice Principal Dave Peters embraces Challenge Day activities. “Jackson High will host a two day Challenge Day workshop in October, which will be funded, in part, from tonight’s proceeds,” said Peters.

Celebrating over 17 years of fund raising, April Brown’s Charity Auction World, which includes a team of five auction professionals is one of the Northwest’s premier auction services, specializing exclusively in working with non-profit organizations to maximize fund raising activities. www.aprilbrown.com
