Jailhouse Art: Broomfield artist Ruth Soller hangs at Central City Jail

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 17, 2010 -- Broomfield Artist Ruth Soller invites you to the Opening Reception and Artist Awards Ceremony at the 63rd Annual Fine Arts Show sponsored by the Gilpin County Arts Association on Saturday June 5th from 5-8 pm at Washington Hall, directly across from the Central City Opera House, 115 Eureka Street in Central City, Colorado. Soller’s oil paintings shown above are included in the juried show and in the VIP room at the Opera House. Soller plans to present a live oil painting demonstration during the Opera Matinee on Saturday, July 10th from 1:30-4:30 pm.

Specializing in architectural renderings, Soller is excited about the chance to exhibit, along with other talented Rocky Mountain artists, in the galleries occupying the Victorian era original jail and courthouse buildings of the historic mining town of Central City. The show will hang through August 14 at GCAA Central City Gallery (303-582-5952).

Puerta Verde Taos Pueblo was inspired by Soller’s summer trip to Taos and Red Tile Roof and La Fonda Las Posadas were inspired by Soller's Christmas visit to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Soller displayed her Santa Fe works in December in the Florence Biennial International Contemporary Exhibition in Italy. Ruth’s self portrait was exhibited along with 330 artists‘ self portraits at Brooklyn Art Library, New York, and will be published in an Art House book about the Self Portrait Project. Ruth will exhibit in a three artist show with Pat Carney and Charlie Anderson at Louisville Recreation and Senior Center, 800 West Via Appia, July 1st to 31st (303-666-7400).
