Jamaica Hospitality Industry gets “Own Voice” via Online Travel Agency

Montego Bay, August 3, 2011: BookJamaicaNow.com, a new Online Travel Agency (OTA) launched by the Jamaica-based Glamour Destination Management Company and Miami-based Regatta Travel Solutions, has received a resounding welcome from the Jamaica Hospitality and tourism industry.

The internet-based booking engine is being hailed as a comprehensive tool via which Jamaican companies, including hotels, villas, car rental agencies and attractions, can reach a wide audience of potential visitors who in turn, may book everything they need for their visit in Jamaica.

Jamaica’s Director of Tourism, John Lynch, has called the initiative “a significant achievement with enormous benefits for Jamaica’s tourism industry”. Pointing to successes in other parts of the Caribbean, Ms. Dwyer said that BookJamaicaNOw.com is “ideally suited to destination Jamaica”. She noted that traditional OTAs typically demand a 25-30% commission from industry partners, while BookJamaicaNow.com asks only 18% and offers free registration to Jamaican companies.

Ashwin Kamlani, President of Regatta Travel Solutions, a newly formed company by Hotel Internet Help, said that the software was developed in an attempt to give Jamaican suppliers a more viable booking engine.
