James Hooks, author, activist and founder of the American Credit Start non-profit organization, is helping to establish a holiday tradition by spending his third year in a different city helping the homeless.
On Thursday, November 25th and Saturday, December 25th, James Hooks will be volunteering at a Denver Colorado area homeless shelter, devoting his time to help those less fortunate. Activities will include feeding the homeless dinner, handing out turkeys, and handing out a variety of gifts.
“The holiday season is a time for giving,” said James Hooks, “In an age of greed, selfishness and where the economic crisis of the last ten years has created even more homeless families, I feel it is very important to devote our free time and available resources to helping those families and individuals who have not been as fortunate as the rest of us.
James Hooks will also be sending a large donation to both the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and the Denver Rescue Mission.
Denver-area residents are invited to join James Hooks in his endeavor by sending a request via e-mail to activism@jameshooks.com. Please write with the subject line “2010 Homeless Outreach”. Deadline to send requests is Friday, November 12th.
