Jamie Oliver’s first foray into the international arena

The last from this charismatic chef is the information that he has struck the deal with The Dubai based Al Futtaim Group Real Estate to open his first international restaurant in Dubai. The new Jamie’s restaurant is set to open late in November 2010 and he will take his famous cooking style to Festival City. The famous chef already has fifteen outlets in the United Kingdom, but this will be his first foray into the international arena. Oliver has turned his attention to international markets since last year. It was reported that he and partner Tranic Ltd were seeking $22 million over 2009 and 2010 from private investors to help fund 30 Italian restaurants across Southeast Asia.

As Jamie Oliver explains, it is about Italian restaurant. The diversity of lifestyles, cooking, traditions and dialects made him fell in love in this country and inspired him to create “Jamie’s Italian”. The visitors will have the pleasure to enjoy in three - level venue with seats for 290 people, in a rustic, authentic Italian ambience. The restaurant features a pasta bar – where fresh pasta will be made every day, while the main dining area will comprise the antipasti and dessert counters.

Despite the basic idea of Oliver’s appearing, which is good at its basis, his name was often related with a lot of controversy and many times he has come across criticism from the public. The most controversial accusation was the one from the parents of the fat American children who were revolted against Oliver's lunch plan that included two portions of fruit and three vegetables every day, defending the right of every child to eat what he wants.
