LogiTag Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the implementation of the Smart Cabinet and StockBox RFID systems at New York Hospital Queens. This is the first installation in the US Healthcare Market and other installations are in progress. The system has been utilized for several years in Israel and several other countries to manage hi-cost medical devices and supplies.
New York Hospital Queens is a 439-bed med/surg hospital that is part of the New York Presbyterian Healthcare System. Through the initiative of Mr. Vito Cassata, Vice President for General Services & Safety Officer and the leadership of Mr. Jed Golden, Director of Materials Management, as well as a dedicated and proactive staff, the Smart Cabinet system is successfully managing a variety of hi-cost devices in two interventional radiology labs in the newly-constructed wing of the hospital.
In addition to the Smart Cabinets, LogiTag’s StockBox is being used to manage the inventory and replenishment of all remaining low-cost supplies which are stored in existing, inexpensive cabinets and shelving. With these solutions from LogiTag, NYHQ is now able to manage their entire inventory of med/surg devices and supplies in the IR labs without the need to count while providing a simple solution that meets the operational demands of the clinicians.
Unlike other automated dispensing cabinets, users do not need to log into the system or follow other time-consuming procedures which leads to greater compliance and operational efficiency. Individual items are monitored including their expiration date, lot/batch number, and par levels and users, distributors, even manufacturers can use any web-enabled device to manage the information to improve logistics and operations. For inventory management, orders are automatically sent to the system administrator and/or directly to the hospital’s distributor.
For additional information please visit the LogiTag website or call 914.833.3547 and a local representative will contact you.
