Jap Man to Face Trial for Rude Actions Towards Flight Attendant

Coconut Creek, Florida, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 16, 2012 -- A 65-year-old Japanese man is scheduled to plead guilty to assaulting a flight attendant aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Tokyo to Honolulu, the Associated Press reports.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Song says the accused was traveling to Hawaii to attend his son's wedding. FBI agents arrested Yamanouchi when the flight landed Monday at Honolulu International Airport. He was released on $10,000 bond and attended the wedding, AP adds.

Identified as a Sohei Yamanouchi, the U.S. Disctrict Court immediately received a complaint filed against the foreigner. According to witnesses, he “hit the flight attendant once with an open hand and once with a closed fist after drinking four glasses of wine.” To add to this, he even “allegedly shook his fist at her and told her in English to ‘shut up’.”

Because of his ill actions, the court is likely to deem that he needs some time – and quite a long time, mind you – to sober up and reflect on the actions he had done. Trial and sentencing will all be done in one day, Friday, where Yamanouchi is set to face a maximum of six months prison and a $10,000 fine.

Obviously, the one who’s at fault here is the Jap man, I mean, who does that in a foreign land, right? Granted that he was quite drunk (and it’s just four glasses he’d had), it still is not much of a stand that the court AND the jury can quite consider.
