Bennett’s Musical Skylarks: A Medley of Memories’ will be published in September 2011. The book has been written
with fellow Jazzman John Bennett.
When Kenny Ball and John Bennett became founder members of a jazz band back in 1958, they had no way of knowing
that they would still be recording together more than 50 years later. Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen, with Kenny playing

trumpet and John on the trombone, had a string of hits during the 1960s including Midnight to Moscow, which sold over
one million copies earning gold disc status. This early success set the band on the road to international stardom and
guaranteed their place in the history of traditional jazz. Kenny and John have one of the most enduring partnerships in the
music business and between them they have a whole host of stories to tell. Now the two friends have decided to share their
memoirs in this entertaining and heart-warming book. Kenny Ball’s and John Bennett’s Musical Skylarks is a collection
of magical memories from the jazz duo’s time performing together.
