Jewish Attitude towards Non-Jewish Women

Judaism is a fairly insular religion. Unlike Christianity, they do not proselytize or actively seek to convert non-Jews to the ways of Judaism. In the days before Christianity, when the alternative was paganism, Jews may have spread the Word. However, after Jesus arrived, he pretty much took over the business and the Jews went back to arguing about the Talmud whilst JC and his Marketing VP's wrote the New Testament and then hawked it around the Roman Empire. The Jews are still waiting for their next CEO which in business terms has been a significant setback. As best sellers went, the New Testament was pretty abysmal. The first of the "Self-Help" books, it took some 400 years to catch on. The New Testament is more a testament to the power of the written word than the word of G-d. However in a time before Caxton and when there was only one best seller published every 500 years, it was fortunate to have the advantage of being the only game in town Intercontinental travel was tedious and lengthy so instead of an 8000 word text like the new SchicksaChick book to relieve the tedium of a trans-Atlantic flight, one needed something like 60 books and 788,280 words (including the Old Testament) to keep you occupied for the entire pilgrimage. The Old Testament was even longer, some 40 books as compared to the 27 books of the NT. The considerable shortening of the NT was probably a result of advances in travel from foot to chariot and the resultant reduction in travel time. Now with blizzards and union strikes travel times are once again beginning to approach Biblical proportions. We no longer talk of a vacation, but a Crusade. All of this has little to with Non-Jewish Women. But if you are spending all your time arguing about the twenty different ways to spell G-d, and then going home to eat Mom's Chicken Soup for the Soul, there is little time left to stop by for a beer at the well with the local Schicksas on the way home.
