Jim Avdoulos was born and raised in Long Island, New York and had attended Sacred Heart catholic school for the first several educational years of his life where he attended as a student, a member of his church and leed alter boy. At age 16, Jim began working at a local chemical company to start saving money for college. While going to school and working full time, Jim graduated high school at the top of his class in 2001 and quickly went on to further his education at Katherine Gibbs with goals to pursue a carreer in technology and business ownership.

While attending Katherine Gibbs, Jim became extremely interested in the field of solar power, bio energy and uv technology. After graduating college at the top of his class in 2004, Jim began to study several different aspects of the field and realized the full benefits of the technology. After 5 years of drawings and designs, in 2009 Jim Avdoulos began building Solargenix, the first solar powered company dedicated to creating portable charging systems for handheld devices such as iPhones and laptops.( http://youtu.be/zPpQBPHK5sQ). With immediate success and first year revenues of over 1.9 million dollars, Jim Avdoulos knew that he was only at the forefront of what he and today’s technology was capable of accomplishing. As a successful entrepreneur, Jim Avdoulos went on to found Diamond Ultraviolet LLC, the first chemical technology company dedicated specifically to uv cure coatings for flooring applications where he currently holds the position of CEO and maintains his chair on the board of directors.
