Job-Killing Pol vs. Small Business Owner

Carolyn McCarthy was depicted as one of New Yorks biggest job killing politicians according to Ray Keating, chief economist for the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council in an editorial that he wrote for the New York Post. The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council released its Scorecard for the 111th Congress and Carolyn McCarthy received an abysmal 10% approval rating based on how she voted on key issues for small business and entrepreneurs.

In contrast, Fran Becker, the candidate vying to unseat Rep. McCarthy received the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business. Fran Becker is the owner of a small business and is facing the same struggles as other business owners in the area. "Government needs to get out of the way of small businesses. There are too many taxes and too many regulations. Nancy Pelosi and her loyal soldier, Carolyn McCarthy, have enacted policies that have placed a choke hold on small businesses and entrepreneurs,” said Becker.
He continues, “The economy can’t recover when small businesses are over-taxed and over-regulated. Nassau County needs representation in Washington that understands how to create the environment necessary for job growth and recovery. We can't afford another two years of their anti-small business policies.”
The NFIB stated in their letter of endorsement to Fran Becker, "Your election is not only critical to the small-business owners in your district, but also to protecting free enterprise across America.”

Becker stated, "My opponent pays lip service to the idea of job creation, but when she gets to Washington she votes against small business time and time again. The 4th Congressional District has a clear choice on November 2nd. They can return a job-killing politician or a small businessman with a plan to get our economy growing again. "
