In February the agency issued a report showing that payroll employment was up by 192,000. While the unemployment rate still hung around the 8.9 percent mark, there were reports of job gains.

Despite this mildly good news, for many job hunters who have been seeking employment for months, and in some cases, years, mustering the enthusiasm to tackle the job market may have waned. • Visualize being offered the job that you want

• Identify obstacles to achieving career goals and determine ways to overcome them
