John Dibella Leads Pro Poker Race 2012

Jamaica, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 17, 2012 -- The first leg of Pro Poker Race 2012 was completed this week with the conclusion of the Pokerstars Carribean Adventure main event, won by American John Dibella . As a result Dibella takes the lead in the Pro Poker Race rankings with 500 points, a lead of 125 points over Kyle Julius . The top 6 in the rankings are filled with other players who made the final table of the main event.

In 7th place with 182 points is Scott Seiver , who won the PCA Heads Up Championships and placed 5th in the 8 Game Championships. In 8th place is Canadian Jonathan Duhamel . The 2010 world champion won the $5,000 Hold'em event earlier in the week, outlasting 157 other players. Another Canadian, Adam Coviensky , rounds out the top 10 on 128 points. Coviensky won the $5,000 PLO Chmpionships. The top 10 is evenly divided between American and Canadian players, with 5 each.

Other notable players outside the top 10 include: Jason Mercier (USA) in 18th, reigning world champion Pius Heinz (Germany) in 26th and 2009 world champion Joe Cada (USA) in 28th. Cada won the $2,000 Hold'em event at the PCA.

The second leg of the 2012 Pro Poker Race starts straight away with the Aussie Millions. The Aussie Millions main event is expected to feature the highest first prize of the year outside the world championship.
