JONES-JACKED IN LA ~ Award Winning Director Films Fast Paced CARJACK

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 3, 2009 -- Following in the footsteps of commercial director icons such as Michael Mann, Tony Scott and Adrian Lyne, Jeremiah Jones is the new Maverick in town. An internationally recognized and award winning director, he has emerged from the commercial scene with a fresh perspective, talent, and vision for his debut short film CARJACK.

Introduced to America by Diane Sawyer, Jones spoke about his vision for visual story telling and his passion to move people through film.

“I always knew that someday I’d want to direct films. Now, I’m following that dream,” says Jones.

He’s known for directing spots for Heinz, Verizon and MGM and is helming a multi-million dollar casino campaign starring Magic Johnson. His “Heinz Worldwide” commercial has won several awards including the Telly Award of Excellence, the Summit Award for Best Commercial in Food and Beverage and the Communicator Award for Directorial Achievement.

Building on his talents, Jones has made that dream a reality and now the sky’s the limit. CARJACK, created by Jones, is a short film with a blockbuster spirit. 18 minutes of jam-packed action, where good meets evil on the freeways of Los Angeles.

“I wanted to do something that’s never been done before. We’re shutting down a two mile stretch of a highway, just outside Downtown LA, to shoot a high speed car chase, a first ever for a short film.”

Jones has recruited some of the top minds in the industry, including his good friend, Lauder Robinson, who’s an accomplished 1st Assistant Director and will make his dazzling debut as Producer on CARJACK. Robinson has worked along side many internationally recognized and award-winning directors such as Alejandro Gonzales Innaritu, Jean Baptiste, David LaChapelle and Mario Testino on commercials and feature films.

CARJACK is filled with fast paced, attention-grabbing scenes, which begins when an upscale businessman played by Marsh Mokhtari, currently seen as the death-defying host on the National Geographic show PERILOUS JOURNEY finds himself at the mercy of a carjacker, Mo McRae (GRIDIRON GANG). Now stranded, he immediately embarks on a daring mission to rescue his seven-year old son played by child star, Skyler Brigmann, who is fast asleep in the back seat of the stolen car. Soon enough you realize this classic action story is not what it seems. CARJACK just completed principal photography in Los Angeles.
