It can be hard sometimes to find a positive amidst so many negatives, but the struggling Philadelphia 76ers had much to be proud of Thursday night on the road in Chicago. Despite dropping their seventh straight loss, Philadelphia got another solid performance from All-Star guard Jrue Holiday (22 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals), held the Bulls to under 39% shooting from the field as a team, and overcame a 16 point second half deficit to give themselves a shot to win with just over 7 minutes left. If the team had a better shooting night from the charity stripe (57%), who knows what could have happened.
Regardless of the outcome, third year Head Coach Doug Collins has to be happy about one thing - the solid play and continued maturation of his young point guard Jrue Holiday. In his third year, Holiday has given Philadelphia a chance to win in nearly every game he has played, and with center Andrew Bynum's eminent return just around the corner, things could be looking up. Stay tuned!
