Junior Golf Championship at Duke University

The Southeastern Junior Classic golf championship will be held at Duke University and hosted by the Tarheel Golf Foundation. The weekend of November 21-22, 2009 will see some of the region's top junior golfers competing over the home course of the Duke Blue Devil's golf teams. "The Duke Course has been host to USGA and NCAA events in the past. We are pleased to return to the Duke campus to host this event for junior golfers." said Robert Gerard, a TGF director, " Our goal is to deliver great playing opportunities in nationally ranked events at the lowest total cost of participation possible." With this event at Duke, we have commitments to play from some of the top players in North Carolina and other states as well as players that are in the top 50 nationally." North Carolina was recently ranked as the 5th strongest golf state competitively among junior golfers. This event compliments the rest of our schedule and allows the juniors to participate who otherwise would not be able to afford the higher entry fees of tours from outside of our region.

The Tarheel Golf Foundation is a non profit organization formed to provide nationally ranked golf tournament participation opportunities to junior golfers at a low total cost of participation. With over 700 members from 18 states and four countries the organization hosts tournaments from September-May.
