Just in Time for Valentine's Day, New Website Brings Hope to Single Christian African American Women

A new website, www.somedaymybarackwillcome.org is bringing encouragement, hope and strategies to Christian women who want marriage in their life.

Creator of the site and former journalist with American Urban Radio Networks, Karen Lightbourne says, "Women in churches need inspiration and direction in their pursuit of love. This is what I needed when I was looking for a mate several years ago, and this is what visitors to the site will get."

The site offers articles, videos, programs and other information to help single Christian Women get on the path to marriage.

“Black Women nowadays are "being who they want to be” and "doing what they want to do”.…but increasingly, in all of this “being” and “doing”, something seems to be missing…men,” says Karen Lightbourne, noting that African American women have some of the lowest marriage rates of any type of women. “Communities of faith need to make sure Christian women are not left in the pews waitin' and prayin' instead of seekin' and findin'."

In the past, churches and family members helped single women find mates, but now women of faith are frequently told just to "wait on the Lord." The website www.somedaymybarack.org is all about things single women can do to get to "I do." The site will be updated regularly and visitors can sign up to receive regular encouragement and advice in finding and being found by a mate.

The site is designed to impact communities by Empowering African American Christian Women to Embrace, Reclaim and Celebrate their Femininity in order to build powerful partnerships with Men.
