Doctor and director of the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group, Marcelo Lancman, MD is pleased to announce the release of his new book, What You Need To Know If Epilepsy Has Touched Your Life: A Guide in Plain English. This book presents the most current medical and lifestyle topics in epilepsy and is an exceptional resource for persons with epilepsy and their loved ones.

What You Need To Know If Epilepsy Has Touched Your Life is an indispensable self reference book that provides a guide for a full life with Epilepsy and clear explanations about the most novel treatments. It provides a guide to life with epilepsy starting with the basics, building up the readers' knowledge of epilepsy and some of the most modern diagnostic and treatment tools used today in 2013. The goal is to turn readers into truly informed consumers when it comes to caring for their epilepsy or that of a loved one.

This work is part of the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group's campaign to raise epilepsy and seizure awareness and provides education in understandable language. Collaborating authors include Dr. Evan Fertig, the NEREG Director of Research, Dr. Olgica Laban-Grant, New York Associate Director of NEREG, Dr. Lorna Myers, clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist, and Dana Casendino, registered dietician.

Dr. Marcelo Lancman and his co-authors are donating all their earnings from the book sale to local epilepsy foundations including the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey, Connecticut, Northeastern NY and Epilepsy Free.

About The Author:

Marcelo Lancman, M.D., earned his medical degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1984 and went on to complete his post-doctoral epilepsy training at Wake Forest University and Cleveland Clinic. Since the late 1990s, he has been the medical director of the Northeast Regional Epilepsy Group in New York and New Jersey, which is one of the largest epilepsy centers in the country with four Level IV accredited epilepsy centers. Dr. Lancman has written several scientific papers and book chapters and has served as a reviewer for various scientific journals. He is a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut as well as the adult epilepsy expert for the New Jersey Epilepsy Task Force.
