He received Teacher of the Year Award from the Residency Education and Training Program in Psychiatry, Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in 1999 as well as in 2005. Kaj Neve, as a member of the New York State Office of Mental Health PSYCHES Team, received a Workforce Champions Award in 2004. This Award was created to recognize the contributions of exceptional New York State employees. His team was selected for having established innovative workforce management practices that improve the effectiveness of State government operations. They designed and implemented a program that substantially improves the quality and safety of prescribing practices in the NYS mental health system. He was a student at The American School in Japan, Tokyo, Japan and Dana College, Blair, Nebraska. He completed his M.D. from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska. He was awarded a University of Nebraska College of Medicine Scholarship. In addition to this, Kaj Neve has also completed various post graduate training. He completed a Residency in Psychiatry from Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center, Bronx, New York. He also completed a Fellowship in Public Psychiatry from New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital; Training in Family Therapy from the Family Studies Section at Bronx Psychiatric Center and a Clinical Externship in Family Therapy from Ackerman Institute, New York.
