Kaj Neve, M.D. Is a Board Certified Psychiatrist

Kaj Neve, M.D . practices Psychiatry at 865 West End Avenue, NY. He completed his medical education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Medicine and received a University of Nebraska College of Medicine Scholarship, 1973-1974. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center and completed a Fellowship in Public Psychiatry at the New York State Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University Medical Center. He completed a Clinical Externship in Family Therapy at Ackerman institute in 1991. Since 1994, he has held an academic appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University. Prior to this, he was Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1986-1991.

Kaj Neve was a team member of The Pharmacy Service and Clinical Knowledge Enhancement System (PSYCKES) Team, winner of the 2004 Workforce Champions Award. The Workforce Champions Award was created to recognize the contributions of exceptional New York State employees. The winning team was selected for having established innovative workforce management practices that improve the effectiveness of State government operations. The PSYCKES Team developed and now manages a health information tool that supports decision-making and information needs for physicians and other clinicians. The program improves the quality and safety of medication prescribing practices in the NYS mental health system by incorporating evidence-based medicine into day-to-day practice.

Kaj Neve has received various awards and honors such as Teacher of the Year Award, Residency Education and Training Program in Psychiatry, Creedmoor Psychiatric Center, 2005; Workforce Champions Award Winner as a member of the New York State Office of Mental Health PSYCHES Team, 2004; and Teacher of the Year Award, Residency Education and Training Program in Psychiatry, Creedmoor Psychiatric Center, 1999.

Kaj Neve is a skilled Psychiatrist and an experienced educator. He is Board certified as a Diplomate in the specialty of Psychiatry. He is a seminar instructor for the Clinical Internship Program in Professional Psychology. He has served as Course Instructor for the Residency Education and Training Program at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center from 1993 to the present.
