KAREN LORRAINE EMERGES INTO THE ARTWALK WITH CHEERFUL WORKS THAT BRIGHTEN THE SPIRIT AND THE HEART-

Phoenix, Arizona, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) August 31, 2010 -- Lorraine’s work is self-described as, “colorful works that heal and lighten the heart”. Join Karen for a “meet and greet” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Lorraine’s “Line Upon Line” series of artwork has a life of its own, she will admit, as she had many of the pieces reveal themselves to her when going through life's peaks and valleys. Born and raised in California, Lorraine began her art career at a very young age with her biggest influence the “Cathy” cartoon series from the Sunday funnies. Her work, however, has a unique style of its own and has been said to brighten the hearts of those who view the images.
For nearly 10 years her artwork remained in personal journals where she sought comfort, and helped bridge the gap between life’s peaks and valleys. Friday’s showcase will be her first public display of these personal images.

Lorraine will showcase two specific pieces: "Joy's Song" is the cover of a children's book and, "In His Hands" depicts the hand of her creator gently holding a small girl. Both images are 22 x 28. To describe further, ”Joy’s Song”depicts Joy singing a happy song and as a result, her wings begin to flutter and she takes flight for the very first time. “I Will Uphold You” shows a child being cradled high above the city troubles and cares of the day-to-day life.
Both pieces were created in Adobe Illustrator and are available to view and purchase at Zoe's Kitchen, 7th Avenue and McDowell Road/southeast corner, 602-716-0070.
The works are located to the left of the parking lot entrance on the east facing wall. Karen moved to Arizona in 2004 and works in sales and teaches indoor cycling in her day career.
