The specialty home furnishings maker based in Lewiston, Maine is introducing a collection of Zen meditation room and yoga furniture.

Company president John Stass said “Katahdin Studio Furniture’s Zen Harbor Collection is designed and crafted with Zen principles in mind… that is with austere forms, artisan grade quality, and physically efficient proportions to promote comfort and relaxation during meditation and contemplation.” Stass goes on to say… ”Zen principles transcend all cultures. Stripping away distraction to focus on that which is fundamentally important strengthens our resolve to succeed in obtaining our ultimate objectives. We at Katahdin take pride in designing and crafting furniture that supports people in the process of achieving these goals.”

Katahdin Studio Furniture was established in 1997. The small but growing company has captured wide acclaim for its music room furnishings that include sheet music cabinets, artisan grade hardwood music and instrument stands, and world-class quality guitar display cabinets. Katahdin Studio has a global clientele, and includes celebrities such as singer Melissa Etheridge and actor Andy Griffith.

The company’s new Zen Harbor Collection includes Zen altars and meditation tables, prayer stools, cabinets and accessories. Furniture for this purpose is not new to the marketplace, but furnishings for this purpose with such an overwhelming level of quality is a rarity.
