Miami – January 2012 – Katherine W. Ezell, a partner at Miami-based trial and appellate law firm Podhurst Orseck, P. A. was recently elected President of The Two Hundred Club, a nonprofit organization that raises money to provide benefits for the surviving dependents of law enforcement officers and fire fighters-- local, state, and federal-- in Miami-Dade County who lose their lives in the line of the duty. In addition to death benefits, the Club provides an annual birthday remembrance check to each dependent child through their 17th birthday and a larger award when the child turns eighteen.
“I feel very privileged to work with this great organization in demonstrating to the loved ones of those who have lost their lives protecting our community that their service and sacrifice is not forgotten” Kathy said. “What better way to remember and honor our fallen heroes than by helping to care for their families.”
