Kathy McShane, Ladies Who Launch, Southwestern Ct. Announces Workshops

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 7, 2011 -- Kathy McShane, Managing Director of Ladies Who Launch, Southwestern Ct, announces an exciting line-up of workshops geared towards helping women business owners launch or expand their business.

Finding Opportunity on LinkedIn. This workshop is not a lecture but a hands-on learning experience. Its designed to help women business owners use LinkedIn to grow their business, build their brand, or expand their professional reach. Our experts will show you how to use this powerful networking tool. Bring a laptop and get ready to build your professional network! January 14th from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.

The workshop will be run by Claire Schoen. Claire is Director of Search Marketing Now, which produces webinars, whitepapers and E-Books about search and internet marketing. She has worked in publishing and marketing for more than 25 years, at companies such as Conde Nast, Simon and Schuster, Cowles, and Jupitermedia. In her current job, she practices social media marketing, and she is a Super Group Founder at LinkedIn.

The Science of Dressing. Dianne Boras, Image Consultant and founder of Vada Image Consulting, will demonstrate how to enhance our image through clothes and color. She will show us how to "shop our closet" to create new outfits by combining garments and accessories that we already have. Bring some pieces of clothing that you have questions about!! We will also have a make-up application and a free brow or eye lash treatment. It will be great networking and lots of fun. January 20th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Brainstorm Concrete Ways To Get New Clients. Take part in a robust, results-driven working session to brainstorm concrete ways to build business. In order to create the most effective experience for participants, we are limiting our working group to six women who will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Kathy McShane will facilitate the group.

McShane brings 25 years of marketing and product/brand development expertise to the Ladies Who Launch organization. Under her leadership Kendrew Group was awarded the “Small Business Hero” award from WCBS News Radio 880 for workplace innovation (Kendrew Group was renowned for offering flexible work arrangements to its more than 50 employees). The company was also honored by Microsoft CEO Bill Gates who bestowed the “Small Business Award of Honor” to Kendrew Group from the National Business and Disability Council.

More than a successful entrepreneur, Ms. McShane is a committed community leader. She serves on the board of directors for the Bank of New Canaan and on the Norwalk Hospital Foundation. She is also co-chair of Norwalk Hospital’s Circle of Caring. She created the non-profit “Exceptional Woman Series,” a program to recognize women leaders in Fairfield County. She is also an adjunct professor at New York University.
