Kelly S. Buckley to Speak at the "Remembering the Children" Bereavement Event in Rock Hill, SC

Rock Hill, South Carolina, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) November 3, 2010 -- On Saturday, November 13, 2010, Kelly S. Buckley, author of Gratitude in Grief, Finding Daily Joy and a Life of Purpose Following the Death of My Son (ISBN#978-1-4490-6379-5), will be the guest speaker at the "Remembering the Children" event in Rock Hill, SC.

"Remembering the Children" is open to all parents who have experienced the loss of a child. It begins with a bilingual Catholic Mass at 9:30 am on Saturday the 13th at The Oratory, 434 Charlotte Avenue, Rock Hill. A reception and special presentation by Kelly will follow the Mass in the Pope John Center. The event is being jointly hosted by the Catholic Dioceses of Charlotte, NC and Charleston, SC.

Over a year ago, Kelly lost her eldest son Stephen. Since his death, she has turned to gratitude to cope with her loss. Each day, she concentrates on finding "one little thing" to be thankful for. This daily gratitude has changed the way in which she grieves and has sparked reflections on life, purpose and faith.

Kelly's journal of the days and weeks after Stephen's death was published in March of this year. Gratitude in Grief has been praised by grief counselors and the bereaved for its cathartic and hopeful approach to grief. Kelly will personally share her story with other bereaved parents at the event on the 13th.
