Kenshokan Martial Arts Academy Readies for 6th Annual Summer Slam Jujitsu Kata and Sumo Tournament

(Free-Press-Release.com) August 17, 2009 -- Woodland Hills, California – August 30th 2009 - The Kenshokan Martial Arts Academy will be holding its 6th Annual Summer Slam Jujitsu Kata & Sumo Contest on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Pinecrest School located at 5975 Shoup Ave in Woodland Hills. The event starts at 11am - 2:30pm. This tournament is open to all Danzan Ryu Jujitsu practitioners ages 4 - adult. Kata is $15 per person ($20 at the door without RSVP) and Sumo is $10 per person. The event is free for spectators.

The Kenshokan Martial Arts Academy is pleased to be holding the tournament at a new location this year. The academy would like to thank Pinecrest School in Woodland Hills for use of their facility. Pinecrest Schools are co-educational institutions serving students from Preschool to Eighth Grade. Their qualified faculty is dedicated to excellence in education. Pinecrest offers moral, physical, cultural and intellectual foundations upon which to build well rounded character in its students. Kenshokan strives to achieve the same well rounded character in its students as Pinecrest and therefore feels proud to use a facility that shares the same goals. In addition to the contest there will be a demonstration of Shindo Muso Ryu JoJutsu a 400 year old Samurai martial art virtually unknown outside Japan.
