Key Fob RFID Tag Acts both as a Tracking Device and a Distress-signaling Device

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 23, 2012 -- Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Asset Tracking (www.GAORFIDAssetTracking.com) has launched this 433 MHz active key fob RFID tag designed to use in applications where door or safe keys need to be tracked, such as in hospitals and government offices. It is also used for the purpose of personnel tracking, vehicle tracking or driver identification. This multifunctional key fob tag can be used both as a tracking device and an alarm-signaling device for applications in dangerous industrial and construction environments like mining.

This active key fob RFID tag, model 124014, transmits tag data including Customer Site Code (CSC), tag ID, tag age counter value and button alarm status and offers configurable settings for site /vendor ID, tag ID and transmission repetition interval. It can operate in silent mode with transmissions only occurring upon the press of the button. The tag can be configured to accommodate Wiegand interfacing.
This high performance RFID tag is powered by an internal lithium battery and has an estimated life span of more than four years at a transmission time interval of approximately 1.5 seconds. It is encapsulated within a molded plastic case, which is ultrasonically sealed protecting it against adverse environmental conditions.
