FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) July 9, 2010 --Kids love to help and the kitchen is no exception. Now there is a new way of getting them involved in making the food they eat. A cooking camp will teach them many of the basics and they can have fun while learning. The lessons, available in a PDF e-book, are easy to follow and kid-friendly.
Debbie Madson, founder of Kids Cooking Activities, started the site after her oldest son showed an interest in cooking. Realizing the kids "cook" all the time from the sandbox to the bathtub, she started kids cooking activities and kids cooking lessons with her own children. From there the idea blossomed as she did cooking lessons with her son's kindergarten class and began to realize all children love to cook.
Searching for kids cooking lessons, Ms. Madson found there was not a lot available that was geared towards children. "They were cooking recipes with names I've never even heard of. (way too gourmet even for me and I love to cook!)" A website that had easy to follow recipes that were created just for kids was needed.
Kids cooking camps through e-books is an innovative and exciting way of getting kids involved in doing something they love. There are now new cooking camps available through her e-books that include different curriculum units that make teaching kids how to cook simple and fun.
The new units include working with dough, spectacular desserts, cooking with color and movie club. Each curriculum unit is a seven week program that can be held once a week or they can be done more days a week - it is up to you. Each one has excellent ideas, recipes with step by step instructions and actual pictures to make the lessons fun and a learning experience at the same time.
For instance, Cooking with Dough is the perfect unit for kids who want to make a delicious creation using dough. They can get their hands as messy as they want but in the meantime they will be creating a tasty main dish or dessert. The step by step instructions will teach them how to work with the dough to make something they will love to eat.
The website contains many sections such as kids cooking crafts, world studies programs and kids cooking parties. The ideas were put together with different age groups in mind, so there is something for all kids to enjoy as they enter the world of cooking.
