December 20, 2011 Tacoma, WA – Although Tacoma Public Schools is only breaking for winter today, many area schools have been on Christmas Break since mid-December. For the parents that are already ready to send the kids back to school, Tacoma City Ballet can help with at least two hours of that long vacation! Tacoma City Ballet offers two final performances of their classic holiday tradition, The Nutcracker, on Wednesday, December 21st at 1:00 & 5:00. Get the kids out of the house and into a fantasy land of Christmas parties, dancing snowflakes, and delightful international dances!

Instead of more television, bring the children to a cultural event that is entertaining for virtually every age. With live accompaniment by The Northwest Sinfonietta and staged in the grand Pantages Theater, Tacoma City Ballet’s The Nutcracker will soon become a treasured holiday memory. Tacoma City Ballet’s The Nutcracker is set apart as the sole production in the area to follow the story, scenic design, costuming and choreography as it was originally created by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov accompanied by Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky’s original score.
