FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Houston, Texas, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) February 25, 2011 --

The IRS arbitration program is an alternative technique of settling disputes outside of the normal court proceedings. Instead of the case being heard by a judge or jury, an arbitrator / arbiter is the deciding party. Arbitration is available for those cases already in the Appeals process after either the settlement negotiations or attempts to enter into a closing agreement have failed under IRS Code section 7121. Even though this is not done in a court, the decision made in this arbitration is still legally binding. If you know that you and your IRS representative are having issues with coming to an agreement, contact us by visiting our website, to see if we can expedite the process.

There are exclusions to the cases where arbitration is an option, which include:

• Compliance and Appeals Coordinated Issues
• Legal Issues
• Some Collection Issues
• Any case not consistent with sound tax administration
• Frivolous arguments
• Any case where the taxpayer did not act in good faith during settlement negotiations.

When settlement negotiations or attempts to enter into closing agreements fail, the taxpayer or Appeals may request arbitration after conferring with the other party. There is a model agreement that will allow the parties some flexibility in designing the arbitration procedure.

As complex as these cases can get, don't stifle your outcome by not having the proper representation! Contact Joe Mastriano P.C. today to see what options we have to help you start resolving your tax problem. With over 30 years of experience the knowledge that comes with that, we can handle anything the IRS has thrown your way. Visit our website or call us NOW at (713)774-4467.
