KILLER IRS – TAXPAYER ADVOCACY PANEL (TAP) – 32 NEW MEMBERS / Taxpayer Advocate Services - TAP

Houston, Texas, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) February 22, 2011 -- The selections are in! There are 32 new members to add to the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel (TAP) for 2011. The sole duty of the this nationwide TAP team is to provide the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) with the taxpayers’ feedback. They are there to relate both what we want and what we need. This is supposed to help ensure that we, the taxpayers, have a voice and can be heard.

TAP will be managed and supported by the Taxpayer Advocate Service. The Taxpayer Advocate Service is an independent agency of the IRS that is there to aid the taxpayers resolve their issues and provide insight on how to prevent any future predicaments. One thing that we must remember is, that these individuals are completely voluntary and do this to help the general public. They will listen to any and all feedback to help the IRS make the changes that must be made in order to improve our lives.

Members of TAP work directly with the executives of the IRS on influential topics, most commonly those that involve the Wage & Investment and Small Business/Self-Employed operating divisions. Members are also charged with bringing forth the topics that the taxpaying public may make them aware of, combined with a plan of action for improvement.

When you do become a member of TAP you are subject to a 3 year appointment and should expect to donate 300-500 hours per year to the TAP activities. Being that the member are all from different locations and are of different backgrounds, they provide a very diverse form of representation for all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
