King’s Academy Students to Build a Community Vegetable Garden

RICHMOND, TX (WEB) January 17, 2012 – Students from the King’s Academy, a private Christian school in Richmond, Texas have launched a fundraising campaign to build an Earth Box vegetable garden on the school grounds. “The King’s Garden” will be a collaborative effort between students from the school, and local area home school students.

Earth Boxes are high-tech growing systems that control soil conditions and more than double the yield of a conventional garden. “The purpose of the garden is to teach students valuable life and science skills, said Julie Savage, a parent volunteer. “The garden will encourage students to put down their electronic devices, get their hands dirty and learn about how they can serve others in their community” Savage said.
