FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Los Angeles, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) November 23, 2011 -- With the advent of eyebrow transplantation, permanent eyebrow loss may be a thing of the past. Dr. Bruce Hensel of KNBC Health News interviewed hair transplant practitioner Dr. Sanusi Umar for a closer look at this innovative procedure. Telemundo also aired the interview for its Spanish-speaking audience.

“Women get thinning eyebrows more often than men because of hormones and other changes in their body,” Dr. Hensel began the segment. Permanent eyebrow hair loss may also occur due to years of cosmetic plucking and the aging process. In recent years, hair transplant technology has solved this problem with eyebrow transplantation, a permanent and natural solution. Dr. Sanusi Umar, a world-leading practitioner of body hair transplant, performs eyebrow transplantation at his Los Angeles-based clinic. Dr. Umar welcomed Dr. Hensel into his operating room to watch the procedure being performed on his patient, Sarah Tirosh.

“I lost most of my eyebrows, so I started tattooing [them],” Tirosh told KNBC after the procedure. “But that takes a lot of maintenance because it fades away and I was looking for a more permanent solution.”

During Dr. Umar’s portion of the interview, Tirosh lay awake on the operating table, with a local anesthetic to numb the donor and recipient transplant sites. The procedure uses follicular unit extraction—the removal of donor follicles one follicular unit at a time. Dr. Umar grafted these donor follicles from the nape of Tirosh’s neck because the hair there is most like eyebrow hair in density and length. (Leg hair is also an excellent donor source for eyebrow transplant.) He then implanted them one by one along the contour of the brow bone.

The procedure is done in one session; normally a long and tedious session, but worthwhile for its long-term results. Tirosh’s procedure took three hours, however, photographs immediately following surgery already show a vast difference from her previous tattoos.

Eyebrow transplant is safe, minimally invasive, and leaves no visible scarring. For those who are dealing with a loss of eyebrow hair and want a solution, this procedure is the answer to real, permanent, and natural-looking eyebrows.
