Kozy DentalCare acquires Kodak 3-D Cone Beam Scanner, first in Toledo

Ohio -- Free-Press-Release.com-- Nov 28, 2010 -- In another first, Paul Kozy DDS of Kozy DentalCare Implant Center has acquired a 3-D cone beam implant scanner.
The Kodak 3-D scanner is the state-of-the art for evaluating patients for dental implants. This 3-D scanner offers an extremely small focused view of the area of bone for implants. This considerably minimizes the amount of x-ray received by the patient.
Dr. Kozy says, " By knowing exactly in 3 dimensions how much bone is available for dental implants, our patients can safely receive the appropriate implant for their condition. " Dr. Kozy also states, " This technology is invaluable for more complex cases involving multiple implants. We first scan the upper and lower jaws. Then we can plan exactly where implants should be placed to help the patient. We then make a custom computer- generated guide that is used during implant placement. This guide is placed in the mouth and "guides" the dental implants into their computer pre-planned positions." This technique allows one or all of the missing teeth to be replaced safely with greater accuracy and less time in surgery.
Dr. Kozy has received the latest in advanced implant training from The Pikos Implant Institute of Tampa, Florida.
