KUNJUT IS PARTICIPATING IN RUSSIAN TEXTILE PATTERN CONTEST

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 28, 2011 -- The unique Museum of Russian Kerchiefs and Shawls (http://www.russianmuseums.info/M2926), located in Pavlovski Posad, near Moscow, has announced the designer contest “Crazy Paisley”. Competition is devoted to those artists, designers and stylists who desire to create patterns for printed fabrics or dresses from this kind of fabrics. Artworks have to be in Russian style based on motifs: “New paisley”, flora and fauna, town symbols, personal perception of Russian style, historical persons, show-biz stars.

“Crazy Paisley” is a part of an educational project, held by the same museum, that tries to revive the tradition of printing by hand of kerchiefs, using special wooden plank and hammer. This technique was widespread in Russia till the middle of 20th century.
