Conde Nast Traveler readers place La Residence among Asia’s top 20 resorts
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 27, 2011 --
On the eve of its sixth anniversary, travelers have thrown their votes behind La Residence Hotel and Spa in Hue to win the art-deco property its first appearance as one of Asia’s top 20 resorts in the Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2011.
La Residence’s debut in the Conde Nast Readers’ Choice Awards, considered one of the most definitive rankings in the hospitality industry, saw the resort claim the 20th spot among an elite line-up including three Four Seasons Resorts and one Aman resort.
One of four resorts from Vietnam to make Conde Nast’s top 20 list for Asia, La Residence had previously been called out by experts at the magazine for its faithful Indochine atmosphere and all-Vietnamese spa staff.
“Few guests leave our doors without feeling a special connection to La Residence,” said Anthony Gill, general manager at the hotel. “It was just a matter of time before travelers caught on to what we and the experts have known about the hotel since the start; that it’s absolutely one of a kind in Asia.”
In August of this year, La Residence joined the elite MGallery Collection – a collection of memorable and unique hotels by Accor.
After winning a spot on the Conde Nast Traveler Hot List 2007 and the Conde Nast Spa Hot List 2007, in 2009 La Residence again drew attention when it was listed as a Grand Winner in the Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report 2009.
Built in 1930 as part of the French colonial governor’s residence, the hotel’s win at the 2011 Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards follows on the heels of an extensive refurbishment completed at the close of 2010.
The Readers’ Choice Awards polled more than 8 million votes from 28,876 readers worldwide, who rated properties across six categories: activities/facilities, food/dining, location, overall design, rooms and service. Only candidates that received a required minimum number of responses were deemed eligible for an award, according to Conde Nast.
