Laemmle's Sunset 5 Screens 15th Annual LA SHORTS FEST On Sunday July 24th, 2011

Los Angeles, California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) July 26, 2011 -- The heat did not deter short film fans from attending the 15th annual LA SHORTS FEST.

The LA SHORTS FEST is an Academy Award qualifying festival that screens over 250 films in 39 programs. On Sunday July 24, 2011 film aficionados gathered at that Laemmle’s Sunset 5 to view Program 15, the Experimental Program which feature shorts from around the World. Whereas most contemporary films tend to overly rely on fast-paced action, special effects and star-power, the LA Shorts Fest presented artfully crafted films exemplary for their cinematography, editing and audio.

In The Music Box: A musical story starring Daniel Cloud Campos, a dancer who plays as a kid in search for an apartment. He finds a loft that speaks to his inner soul and creates a beautiful melody giving him no choice but to play along with the tune.

The Pink Panther and Pals make an appearance with a clever short film starring an Aardvark placing bets with an Ant over a few mis-calculated card tricks.

In “Breakfast With Bukowski: An animated short film about the LA writer Charles Bukowski’s struggle to find story title. The humorous journey illustrates the writer’s colorful life as he wrestles with his creative process with music by Tom Waits. Directed and produced by Greg and Mark Runnels.

Many of the films carried a sentimental value with effective imagery and music. Overall the films were incredibly well done, and it was satisfying to see the use of local locations as well as locations from Greece and Sweden.
