Each local real estate market abides by its own trends. The good news is at least locally in the Lake Havasu City area of Arizona the overall trends have been improving for real estate recently. The first time home buyer’s credit has been argued as a contributing factor to the improving housing market however the degree of which is still uncertain. In eithercase the credit has been extended and expanded so the upswing will likely continue. What can not be argued are the hard numbers. In Lake Havasu City alone inventory has fallen dramatically off the high point in 2008 and now there are just under 1000 single family homes on the market according to the local MLS service as of November 11, 2009. listings have begun to subside as well with now just over 100 single family foreclosures in Lake Havasu actively listed on the Western Arizona MLS. This number is close to ½ of the high water mark.
