In order to prevent future problems, Toyota has made alterations to their vehicles. 2011 vehicles now include a “Smart Stop” system that allows brake override. They also have an enhanced event data recorder included as standard on all vehicles. The company now has added new quality control checks and increased reliability testing of crucial parts in order to catch any faulty equipment before it goes to market.
