Lancashire-based Turton Wines has become the first wine merchant to import the renowned Domaine de Fleur wine. This is the first time the range of high-quality non-alcoholic wines have been made available in the United Kingdom.

Brett Dawson, Director of Turton Wines, said, “We’re so pleased to be able to supply Domaine de Fleur. Alcohol-free wines have improved tremendously in recent years, and this new generation is excellent.

“They’re made in exactly the same way as other wines but the alcohol is removed after the initial fermentation. This means they have the same wonderful qualities of any alcoholic wine, retain all of the health benefits and they have far fewer calories. So they’re popular with wine lovers who have to drive or watching their waistlines,” he added.

The Domaine de Fleur winery was set up in 2009 by Alexander Nijeboer and Bea Mienis. Based in the Netherlands, they found the Dutch market had very few alternatives to alcoholic wines. The company has grown rapidly following favourable reviews from respected wine writers.

As well as the UK, their wines are exported to Belgium and Greece. Recently, Greek airline Hellenic Imperial Airways decided to make all flights alcohol-free. After extensive trials of the world’s leading non-alcoholic wines, Domaine de Fleur was chosen as its exclusive supplier.

A choice of wines are available in the UK including Merlot, Riesling, Sparkling and Sparkling Rosé - a great alternative for anyone wanting to celebrate and enjoy the taste of wine but without any of the drawbacks.
