Largest Grappa Bottle Record Shattered By Distilleria Bottega

(Free-Press-Release.com) June 24, 2010 -- Treviso, Veneto, Italy - June 06, 2010 – Distilleria Bottega, the Italian-based wine and grappa producer has set a world record for the largest bottle of grappa ever created. Measuring 2 metres high, with a diameter of 25cm, a circumference of 110cm and a thickness of 5cm; the bottle contained 138 litres of Alexander prosecco grappa.

The bottle was filled in front of an audience of over 6,000 in Sant’Artemio Park in Treviso, with the record subsequently ratified by a Guinness World Record adjudicator. Ticket sales from the event were donated to local charity, the Alberto Rizzotti Association ADVAR.

The award-winning Alexander line is available in the UK at Sheffield-based wine merchant Le Bon Vin and is renowned worldwide for both the quality of its grappa and beauty of its bottles.

As with all Alexander products, an enormous amount of time was spent in the preparation of the bottle, with 8 months of planning, 200 man hours and 6 Venetian glass blowers required to create the perfect vessel to carry the famous grappa.
