Los Angeles, CA (August 19, 2010) - Soulful Singer-Songwriter, Larissa Lam, will perform a rare acoustic show on Sat. August 28th, 2010 at 8:00pm at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles. She will debut some new songs as well as give her unique spin to classic and current Pop/R&B songs. Lam will be accompanied by guitarist Andrew Doolittle, who earlier this year was on tour in China with Asia pop star, David Tao. He has previously backed Bird York, Patti Page, Corrinne May among others.
Lam will donate net proceeds to World Vision's emergency fund to assist victims of recent floods in China and Pakistan. World Vision has relief teams on the ground and plans to provide food to over 300,000 people affected by these natural disasters. Lam has been a spokesperson for World Vision, since 2005.
In addition to releasing three solo albums and touring with dance/Gospel group, Nitro Praise, Lam has garnered success as a music composer. Her music can be heard on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The E! Channel, TLC and more. Her song, "Breathing More", appears in the video game Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2 and her song, "Pendulum" was a Top 10 finalist for Star 98.7's Star Lounge Song Contest.
Last year, she teamed up with Chinese-American rapper, Only Won, to turn the hit song, "American Boy" by Estelle and Kanye West into the YouTube fan favorite, "Cantonese Boy." In addition to music, Lam hosts a weekly show, "Top 3," on nationally broadcasted network JCTV.
Lam will be heading back into the studio this fall to work on her 4th solo album, Love & Discovery.
