Larry Osentoski, President & CEO of DRIVE Developments, Inc. is Elected to the Selfridge Base Community Council
Sterling Heights, Michigan – Larry Osentoski, the President & CEO of DRIVE Developments, Inc. is pleased to announce recent selection to Selfridge Air National Guard Base Community Council.

Sterling Heights, Michigan – Larry Osentoski, the President & CEO of Michigan based DRIVE Developments, Inc. is pleased to announce Osentoski’s recent membership in the Selfridge Air National Guard Base (SANG) Community Council.
“We are pleased to have been elected to membership within the council. We look forward to supporting the Selfridge Air National Guard At DRIVE Developments, Inc. we value our communities and encourage our employees to stay active and involved.” said Osentoski. Selfridge is the third oldest military aviation base in the United States with Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio the 2nd and Langley AFB in Virginia being the nation's first.
The volunteer Base Community Council has performed various base support functions and has been instrumental in helping to keep up awareness of the active and historical aspects of the Selfridge Air National Guard Base. The council also participates in fund raising events and holds regular meetings encouraging community activism and engagement. SANG was named after Lt. Thomas Etholen Selfridge, the first-ever person and soldier anywhere to die in the line of duty as a casualty of aviation and powered flight at the age of 26 on September 17, 1908. He was riding shotgun as a military (US Army, Aeronautical Div., Signal Corps) observer with Orville Wright as Mr. Wright attempted to demonstrate the in-flight capabilities of their new machine for the US Army at Ft. Myer in Virginia nearly a decade before the United States entered into WW I. Selfridge was also the United States government representative to the Aerial Experiment Association, which was chaired by Alexander Graham Bell, and became its first secretary.1
DRIVE Developments, Inc. is a Michigan based business founded in 2007 with strong ties to the military and the DoD. The company specializes in electronics and robotics and is currently seeking to leverage the existence of the nearby base in the development of its Diagnostic Information Management Environment (DIME) products.
