Welcome visit Our WebSite:
http://www.petsforpatriots.org “We see fabulous animals who can live good lives so often tossed aside, overlooked or forgotten due to size, age, extra physical or emotional needs.” says Director Allison Rathert. “Knowing that Pets for Patriots feels the same way makes us appreciate and value the program even more.”
In gratitude for the service of military personnel and veterans in their community, k9.5 offers a 20% adoption fee discount to any Pets for Patriots member.
Concerned Citizens for Animals (CCA), founded in 1980, offers a 10% adoption fee discount to Pets for Patriots members in Greenville and Pickens counties.
Susan Bellinger, Shelter Director at Concerned Citizens for Animals says, “We know that animals can be very therapeutic for people in many ways. But for a service person who has bravely defended his/her country, the comfort and companionship of an animal can be great.”
Helping military members afford their adopted pets
To reduce the costs of purchasing pet supplies and essentials, Pets for Patriots provides direct financial support to veterans who join its program and honorably adopt a dog or cat, at least two years old, dogs over 40 pounds regardless of age, and special needs pets.
Members receive an ongoing, 10% discount on medical care for their adopted pet from the Holly Tree Animal Hospital, a veterinary facility offering care to residents in Simpsonville, Greenville, Fountain Inn and surrounding communities.
“Our interest in this program stems primarily from our dedication to helping adult and special needs dogs and cats find their forever home.” says Dr. Steve Shrum, DVM and owner Holly Tree Animal Hospital. “This has been an active part of our mission since we opened Holly Tree in 1994.”
“We’re delighted to have partners who share our philosophy and dedication to last-chance dogs and cats, as well as to the well-being of veterans living in their community” says Beth Zimmerman, founder and executive director of Pets for Patriots. “With their support, we’re confident that we can help move animals in need into loving military homes.”
Helping our honored veterans find their forever friend and adjust to life back home
Offered at no cost to its members, Pets for Patriots is open to individuals from any branch of the United States military, at any stage of their careers. Those interested must first apply at www.petsforpatriots.org, and provide proof of their military service or honorable discharge.
Approval typically takes two business days, after which Pets for Patriots members may visit either of the charity’s local shelter partners to adopt their new best friend, and receive discounted pet care from Holly Tree Animal Hospital.
