LaVerne Council is a Member of Various Important Organizations

LaVerne Council is a woman with a long and successful business career in which she has help important positions in various organizations. She has a solid educational background with a B.S. degree in business from Western Illinois University, M.B.A. in Operations Management from Illinois State University and a Doctor of Business Administration from Drexel University. The important landmarks in her career have been a partner with Ernst and Young where she handled the company’s Global Supply Chain Strategy practice and working as the Global Vice President for IT, Global Business Solutions and Development Services for Dell, Inc. Presently LaVerne Council is the Corporate Vice President and the chief information officer of Johnson and Johnson where she handles and manages the information technology and related systems for the Johnson & Johnson worldwide enterprise.

Being a very active person and a responsible citizen, LaVerne Council has always tried to benefit the society besides her work as well. To achieve this aim to contribute towards the betterment of the society, LaVerne Council joined various important organizations and today she even heads some of them. Presently, she is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, The Conference Board – Wharton Fellow and Executive and Board Symposium. She is also on Workforce Opportunity Services Advisory Committee and Microsoft CIO Advisory Board. She is the Co-Chairman of Global CIO Executive Summit and the Chairman of Board of the Liberty Science Center and National Board of Trustees for the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. This is a cause that is very close to her heart as her own son was born prematurely and she understands this issue firsthand.
