Ledson Harmony Foundation Delivers New Pitching Machine for Sonoma Valley Girls Softball

Sonoma, CA (February 16, 2012) – The Ledson Harmony Foundation (www.ledsonharmonyfoundation.com), hearing about real needs, purchased a pitching machine for the Sonoma Valley Girls Softball Association. Last year Dean Merrill, Varsity Softball Coach and Program Director decided to go door to door asking for local merchants to donate funds to purchase the badly needed pitching machine. Vintner and philanthropist Steve Ledson approached him with the offer of donating the entire $2,700. Merrill stated,” This means so much to our players, not only will they have the opportunity to compete with top pitchers in the division, but all of the Recreation League players will benefit as well.”
There will be a ceremony on Thurs, Feb. 16th at 4:00pm at the Sonoma High School Softball field to officially acknowledge the donation. Among those accepting the machine will be Dean Merrill and players from the Girls Varsity Softball Team and Steve Ledson.

The Harmony Foundation is funded by in kind donations from the Ledson Family and Ledson Winery, direct donations from the public to the Harmony Foundation and special bottlings of Ledson wines in conjunction with such caring celebrity friends of the Foundation including singer and Grammy winning artist Michael McDonald, San Francisco 49er Hall of Fame receiver Dwight Clark, Academy award winning actor Jeff Bridges and San Francisco Giant’s Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda.

The Ledson Harmony Foundation for Children exists to break down the barriers between need and assistance by providing direct financial support to at-risk or in-need youth whose record of personal responsibility, dedication and achievement is imperiled by circumstances or events beyond their control.
