Legal Career Cross-Training Seminar Multiplies Job Options for Nurses
Now a nurse can become a nurse expert witness in only 2-days. Nurses can supplement their incomes by getting certified as a Professional Legal Nurse Consultant (PLNC) and can earn $150/hour.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 14, 2012 --
Jurex Center for Legal Nurse Consulting is hosting a two-day legal nurse certification course in the Orlando area on March 17 & 18, 2012. The seminar certifies nurses to acquire work as expert witnesses. Certified practitioners go on to develop their own full-time practices or augment their existing nursing jobs with part-time consulting work at law firms, insurance agencies or hospitals, to cite a few options within the healthcare field.
The founder of Jurex, Elizabeth G. Rudolph, an attorney, nurse and legal nurse consultant, created the venture in 2006 to “empower nurses” and teach them to become expert witnesses. Rudolph designed the course and the accompanying manual, How To Be A Professional Legal Nurse Consultant, with brevity in mind. She distills a vast amount of information into an easily digestible two day certification course, and places the emphasis on the two main tenants of the practice: teaching and certifying nurses to partner with attorneys to review medical records in medical-legal cases as well as marketing their skills to the legal community in order to maximize the niche in which legal nurse consultants operate.
Interested parties should note that the live course will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando Airport, 7300 Augusta National Dr., Orlando, from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Mar. 17 & 18, 2012. Nurses will receive their Professional Legal Nurse Consultant (PLNC) certification from Jurex Center for Legal Nurse Consulting upon completion of the seminar and Rudolph will be on hand to personally conduct the certification course.
“Professional Legal Nurse Consultants provide an invaluable service to the legal community,” Rudolph said. “This live course is designed to give nurses more choices and the tools they need to exercise those choices.”
For those who cannot personally attend the event at the Hilton, Rudolph’s course is offered electronically as an E-Course, with optional audio and video formats available as well. These alternatives can still be completed in two days and cover the basics of starting a legal nurse consulting business plus a general primer on the law. They are available for sale through the Jurex website at http://www.jurexnurse.com.
Rudolph is a licensed attorney and registered nurse, with a Master’s Degree in Nursing and law degree from Vanderbilt University. She speaks nationally on legal issues in nursing and legal nurse consulting.
