FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 8, 2012 --
Wearing a black vest and without a scrap of make-up on, a stunning Miranda Kerr poses earnestly for one of her first professional shots, with little idea of the bright future in store. The same can be said for a beautiful but pared-down Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who wearing a simple top and cardigan, looks a far cry from the glamorous model gracing the catwalk today.
The candid portraits form part of a private collection of Polaroids taken between 2000 and 2010 by renowned casting director Douglas Perrett. Miranda Kerr poses for one of her first modelling Polaroids, showing off her natural good looks but had trouble getting booked for jobs, casting agent Douglas Perrett revealed
They show some of the world's most in-demand models before they were famous and are printed in limited-edition book Wild Things, published by casting agency CAOCD.Others include Candice Swanepoel, Arizona Muse and Chanel Iman, all posing au naturel.Perrett also recorded his reactions to each of the models when he first saw them - with surprising revelations. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was described as having an upbeat personality with 'her eye on the bigger picture'Perett claims Kerr was continually overlooked at the start of her career, in favour of a fellow model she would attend castings with.
Douglas Perrett told New York Magazine: 'She would always do her castings with her blonde friend, another Aussie who would always get the job.
'She never booked the jobs.' The models propelled to stardom after starring in the Victoria's Secret showBut it seems the industry woke up to the 28-year-old's talents as she now has a Victoria's Secret contract under her belt, as well as countless catwalk gigs. But Perett claims Rosie had an 'upbeat character' and 'seemed to have her eye on the big picture'.He didn't, however, think much of Swanepoel.
He said of the 23-year-old: 'Didn't like her; Found her very Barbie-like.'
Candice Swanoepoel, left, was too 'Barbie-like', left, and a young Chanel Iman 'needed a hug'
The pair have since both been snapped up by Victoria's SecretPerett also commented on model Chanel Iman's young age, saying: 'Realised how young these kids are. She needed a hug that day'He was equally unimpressed by Arizona Muse, who was Vogue's February cover girl.He said: 'First impression: 'Didn't get at first; Her hair, her face.'
