LIBRARIES EMBRACE MARKETING WITH SELF-SERVICE
LIBRARIES EMBRACE MARKETING WITH SELF-SERVICE
LAT Enables All Products with Digital Signage Capability
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 12, 2009 --
SOMERDALE, NJ, October 8, 2009: Library Automation Technologies, Inc. (LAT), a leader in library automation products, is pleased to announce it has updated its entire product line to allow libraries the ability to “communicate” with patrons via digital signage capability. This will take form as a free upgrade to all existing customers.
Without affecting the existing operation and patron interface, this upgrade allows existing self-serve systems to function as “digital signs” during their idle times. This not only enhances the libraries’ ability to market its array of services and activities, but it also minimizes unnecessary hardware and staff expense to do so. By using an already provided LAT-Central™ Enterprise Management System (provided free of charge to all LAT customers), the library can control signage content of each individual system or in blocks. The content can be changed at any time.
Oleg Boyarsky, President and CEO of LAT commented "Libraries are changing and are evolving with the times. Like commercial enterprises, libraries must now market their value to their patrons. Instead of buying monitors, computers or creating a separate infrastructure to do that, we allow them the same capability using the equipment they already have; and, by the way, it’s FREE.”
LAT-Max™, LAT-MAXine™ and LAT-MAXwell™ is a family of self-service machines for libraries based on FlashScan™ technology. By providing multiple form-factors all with a same patron interface and multiple finishes, the machines allow libraries to take advantage of the modern self-service technology regardless of their physical space constraints. Coupled with an array of impressive features and capabilities, such as on-demand, field-upgradable RFID capability, desensitization support, wireless networking, included multi-language support, as well as over 400+ features and settings, these machines are installed in 100’s of libraries worldwide and have gained a solid, industry leading reputation for value. allCIRC™ product line is an extension of the FlashScan™ technology that allows total CD/DVD media security while simultaneously providing self-service for their patrons.
