Carson J Spencer Foundation Celebrates 5 Years Sustaining a Passion for Life

DENVER, Colorado. July 21, 2010.In the five years since the Carson J Spencer Foundation was formed, the founders have honored its namesake by creating programs that help "sustain a passion for life." Five years ago, there was no Working Minds Program designed to help workplaces create comprehensive suicide prevention campaigns. Five years ago, there was no Social Enterprise Project coaching emerging business leaders to be champions for suicide prevention in their communities. Five years ago, there were no iCare Packages offering bundles of resources to families bereaved by suicide. Five years ago, there was no Rising Star Scholarship helping emerging entrepreneurs get to college. The Carson J Spencer Foundation has come a long way in a short time and asks you to join them at their annual gala to honor these accomplishments.

To celebrate, the Carson J Spencer Foundation throws a good party: celebrities, high-end cars, gourmet food, and a fashion show. Celebrating five years of success, the organization will host its annual "Shining Lights of Hope Benefit Auction Evening" at LeMay Auto Club in Lakewood, Colorado on August 28 th (for more information go to: www.ShiningLightsOfHope.com).

"We designed this organization with my brother's entrepreneurial spirit in mind," says Executive Director, Sally Spencer-Thomas. "We find niches and fill them with innovative solutions. Likewise our event in an upscale auto museum will be innovative and fun."

Honorees at this year's event include Cactus Jacks Saloon (Shining Lights of Hope Award) and Junior Achievement (Shooting Star Award) among others. The event, Emceed by Channel 9's Greg Moss will feature a gourmet dinner, fashion show by the Green Mountain High School Social Entrepreneurs and 2Kool, and live/silent auctions facilitated by former State Representative Debbie Stafford.
